Madison Park Middle School is transforming in big ways! The pictures below, taken by ADM Group architects show vertical movement on all buildings! This means that our team has progressed from underground utility work to setting the steel structure of your future classrooms!
The steel structure is sometimes referred to as the building’s “bones”. Like skeletal bones, building bones provide structural shape, protect utility lines (electric, gas, communication, etc), and support the weight of the school. This is a big job that requires help from many different material components. Columns, beams, roof joists, and metal decking work together to make the structure strong. Ensuring the steel structure has been properly installed is very important, as all aspects of the remaining project will be attached (in some way) to the structure.
Several of the new Madison Park buildings were designed to be curved. Aesthetically, they will look super cool once finished. However, when it comes to building, curved steel structures can be tricky and if not installed properly, may look boxy. Collaboration between the builders, architects, and the District’s construction team has eliminated potential issues relating to the curved structure. In a few short weeks, the structure at Madison Park will be 30’ high!
What’s next at Madison Park? CHASSE Building Team will be grading (leveling out) the ground to prepare for the new parking lot! Then, shortly after, the roof will start going up! Make sure you’re watching closely…things are HAPPENING FAST!
