For the last month, the CHASSE construction team has been focusing on roofing and drywall at Madison Park. While you may think, “a roof is a roof”, there are actually several types of systems to consider – each with pros and cons. The three main roofing systems are PVC, TPO, and EPDM. TPO was chosen for Madison Park, so let’s focus our research here…

TPO, or thermoplastic polyolefin, is one of the most popular roofing materials used in the industry. It’s affordably priced, comes with a 20-year warranty, is durable, mold resistant, and because of the color (white), it reflects thermal heat and is energy efficient! The buildings become increasingly efficient with added insulation. At Madison Park, two layers of polyisocyanurate (foam) were placed between the metal deck and TPO membrane. In total, the insulation is 5.6” thick, keeping students warm in the winter, and cool in the summer!

Fun Facts! Madison Park will have 63,761SF of TPO, and 127,000SF of iso board!

CHASSE Building Team plans to complete the roofing process on April 4th! After that, the fun interior build-out will start taking place! Make sure to check back for future updates!
