As construction on Phase 1 of Madison Park comes to a close, our teams are moving at lightning speed to complete every item on the list. Major changes are happening every day! All the drywall has been installed – the walls are DONE! Carpet has started to be laid, the air conditioning and lights are now on (just in time for summer!), and cabinets and counters (millwork) have been installed.

Outside, our team has finished grading the fields and have started to plant grass. The fields at Park will be Bermudagrass. Bermuda is a great fit for the hot, Arizona weather. It is very drought-tolerant and has the capacity to withstand heavy usage and recuperate quickly – perfect for the students at Park!

What’s Next? Next month, our team will begin Phase 2 – demoing the existing school!

STEAM Activities

Madison Park Middle School puts a major emphasis on STEAM learning. Students are taught to engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate – things that happen every day on construction sites! Over the course of two weeks, members of CHASSE Building Team provided tours of the active site to hundreds of students. First, they received a lesson in worksite safety and were given their own hard hat and vest. Next, our Virtual Construction team demonstrated how efforts made during preconstruction can eliminate challenges during actual construction. Finally, CHASSE’s onsite Superintendents provided guided tours of each new building. CHASSE is happy to show real life application of STEAM learning! We had a blast engaging with Park students and look forward to more opportunities in the future!
