Friday, October 21st was a BIG DAY for Madison Park Middle School! Our campus hosted the official Groundbreaking ceremony for MPMS, 2.0! The rebuild process has taken off at lightning speed! In fact, the event actually took place on the new concrete pad of Building B, or the soon-to-be Administration Office and Art/Music Rooms of Highland Prep!
Led by music and band teacher, Mrs. Thibodeaux, our 71-piece Lion band kicked off the festivities with a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem. To follow, remarks were offered by Scott Holcomb, MPS Governing Board Vice President, Ben Barcon, Owner of ADM Group Architects, and Barry Chasse, President of CHASSE Building Team. The speeches centered around the importance of educational improvements and the impact this rebuild will have on future generations.
“Construction of the new, state-of-the-art Madison Park School will significantly enhance the already strong educational and cultural environment of the Park community. Park is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) school. The innovation, dedication, and focus of ADM Group and CHASSE Building Team in working with the Madison School District to advance Park’s STEAM signature program has created a unique, inventive, and welcoming campus to serve the Park students, educators, and families far into the future. Full STEAM ahead!” – Scott Holcomb, Board Member, Madison Elementary School District #38
The event culminated with a “turning of the dirt”. Our entire band team took turns using gold shovels to solidify this exciting new beginning! Here are some highlights from the day!
